Ben Rist has signed a contract with Illuminate Records. Illuminate works with artists to help achieve world success.
A note from Ben on why he decided to end the contract with Steel Records:
"Steel Records seemed like a good idea at first but it became a place of label bosses trying to get me to use the xenophobia in the country to sell records. I would write a song like 'A Little Hope' and they would say it"s to spread hope to a world of hate. No, it was written for those who were EXPERIANCING the pain of a world full of hate. I wrote it for anyone suffering bullying. Then, during the selection process for the backing band on the 2017 tour someone - this girl who said she wanted to be a guy and come as a guy to tour gave the most amazing audican ever. I fully support this and HE will be in my backing band now. Steel Records were not going to allow him to play because he wouldn't continue as his gender born gender. That's transphobia and this is not happening in my music. I am not going to allow discrimination to anyone. I want to thank Starnow managment for supporting equality and helping fight for socislism. Growing Pains will now be released Illuminate Records - so expect some art changes. Thank you, Ben x "
